Prescribing for patients seen privately

This practice has the following policy in respect of prescriptions for patients who see consultants privately:

  • We will only prescribe when we continue to be involved in the patients care.

  • We will not prescribe for patients who have self-referred.

  • We will only do a prescription when we have received a full letter from the consultant concerned.

  • We like to review the advice, which is offered and decide for our selves whether to follow it.

Complaints procedure

We always try to give the best possible service, but there may be times when you feel this has not happened. This section explains to you what to do if you have a complaint about the service we provide.

We hope you will use our Practice procedure to enable us to look into matters and to put right any problems which can be identified.

Please note that we have to respect our duty of confidentiality to patients and that the consent of a patient is necessary if a complaint is not made by that patient in person.

If you wish to make a complaint please contact our Practice Manager, Mrs Pam Scott. She will take full details of your complaint and decide with you how best to look into it. You will be offered the opportunity of a meeting.

We would hope to process your complaint within two weeks and if for any reason matters are delayed we will try to let you know why.

If you wish to bring a relative or friend to any meeting you are welcome so to do.

We will try to address your concerns fully, provide you with an explanation and discuss any action that may be needed. We hope that, at the end of the meeting, you will feel satisfied that we have delt with the matter thoroughly. However if this is not possible and you wish to continue with your complaint we will direct you to the appropriate authority, namely Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich Health Authority.

No smoking policy

We have a strict no smoking policy on our premises. This applies to staff, patients and guests.

Violence, Abuse and Harassment toward Practice Staff

Staff working in the NHS do so to care for others.

In order to ensure that all patients attending this Surgery receive the treatment they need, it is essential that our staff are able to work without fear of attack, abuse or harassment.

Violence against staff working in the NHS is a crime and employers will work with the police locally to prevent it.

Police assistance will always be requested when violent incidents occur.

We therefore ask for your co-operation in making sure that this Surgery remains a safe environment for both staff and patients.
