An appointment with the surgery counsellor can only be made at the request of the doctor or nurse. A written referral, by the doctor or nurse, has to be made to the counsellor who will then acknowledge receipt of the referral and subsequently send you an appointment.

Midwife (ante-natal care)

A Midwife is a nurse who is trained to care for expectant mothers and their new born babies.  Generally a Midwife will look after a pregnant woman from the time they have been booked for their ante-natal care until 10 days after the birth of the baby.  They will provide most of the care during your pregnancy.

Our ante-natal clinics are run on a Wednesday afternoon between 2 PM and 4.30 PM.

Health Visitors

Health visitors are nurses who have had additional training to care for the family.  Traditionally they have looked after the needs of mothers from 10 days after the birth, a point at which the Midwife relinquishes care.  They are also the first port of call if you have any concerns about your child.  Again, traditionally, they will remain involved in the care of your child until he/she is 5 years old.  Our Health Visitors work from the Willows clinic, Redhill, Chislehurst (next to Redhill Primary School).

Health Visitors for the Elderly

Health Visitors also care for the needs of Elderly people and are always willing to attend an elderly person by appointment to discuss any special needs that they may have.

Contact the Health Visitors on: 020 84671631

Phlebotomy (blood letting)

If the doctor or nurse has asked you to have a blood test then you are required to attend one of the local phlebotomy services.  We regret that the surgery can not make appointment for patients to have their blood taken at the surgery.  We do make exceptions for the elderly.  The blood form will inform you of the opening times for the service.  There is also a service from the church hall on Court Farm road, Mottingham;

                             Monday

                    09:30 to 12:30

                      Wednesday

                    09.30 to 12.30

                           Friday

                    09:30 to 12:30

Did Not Attends (DNA's)
Each year at least 1000 patients do not keep their booked appointments. This equates to one whole 3-hour surgery each week or 2 days of a doctors time per month or almost 5 weeks of a doctors time a year. Time that could otherwise be used to improve services for you. Please be considerate, if you are unable to keep an appointment then please inform us so that we can use that appointment for someone else.
